Super glue and baking soda!
The amount of things that you can fix with super glue and baking soda are endless. And, not just baking soda. You can also use toilet paper, cotton string …..even cement and super glue. In Mexico, the most common brand of super glue and the cheapest is Kola Loka. However, they all work basically the same.
Whatever you have broken, put some super glue on it, then add the baking soda or toilet paper and it will dry almost instantly. Its good to add several layers, because it makes the end product very strong. After its dry, you can sand and paint it as well, if need be. This hack has been very useful in Mexico, where its not always easy to buy a replacement item.
An example of this is our coffee grinder. Its a Barista brand grinder that we bought over 20 years ago. However, the paddle wheel that kicks out the coffee wore out, (for some reason) You can easily buy these paddles in the states, but I couldn’t find it anywhere in Mexico. So i used baking soda and super glue to build “new” paddles.
The end result was a little crude, however it worked quite well for several months until I was able to buy a new one in the states. It might actually be time to just buy a new grinder. What else can you fix with super glue and baking soda??
